Robert 'Bob' Strawn
April 28, 1956 - April 20, 2026
Robert 'Bob' Strawn, 69, of Manton, California, passed away on April 20, 2026. Born on April 28, 1956, at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, Bob lived a steady and hardworking life, grounded in faith, family, and community.
Bob was known as a “get’r’done” kind of man. He stayed busy, whether working on the farm, helping a neighbor, or building something in his shop. If he said he would do something, he followed through. That reliability defined him. He spoke plainly and lived by his words, often saying, “I mean what I say, and I say what I mean.” People around him always knew where they stood, and they respected him for it.
He had a love for working with his hands and took pride in fixing, building, and figuring things out. His time with the U.S. Forest Service was something he carried with him and spoke about often. Much of his career was spent in the commercial tire industry, where he worked his way up from service roles to store manager through persistence and dedication.
Bob valued being part of something bigger than himself. He was active in the Healdsburg Jaycees and Lions Clubs and stayed involved in his church. After moving to Shasta County, he became part of the Manton Grange, where he appreciated the way neighbors showed up for each other, especially during difficult times like wildfire season.
His family was at the center of his life. The adoption of his daughter, Michelle, was one of the most meaningful moments of his life, and he loved her deeply. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend who showed his care through his actions every day. He also had a special place in his heart for his two border collies, Sam and River, who were always close by.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Michelle; his brothers, Mark (Diana) and Matthew (Denise); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pamela Strawn.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong work ethic, and the way he showed up for the people in his life. The things he built, the help he gave, and the example he set will continue to carry forward in the lives he touched.
