Wilma Lois Hasty (“Willie”)

Wilma Hasty from Cottonwood, CA Aquaterra Water Cremation Services

September 2, 1942 – July 26, 2025

Wilma L. Hasty, 82, of Cottonwood, California, passed away on July 26, 2025. Born September 2, 1942, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, she was known as “Willie” most of her adult life, playfully explaining, “That’s what my dad called me because he wanted a boy.”

Willie was a shining presence - loving, considerate, and full of life. She brought warmth to her role as a personal banking officer at Wells Fargo and took great pride in her work and the people she served. Above all else, she loved her family - nothing mattered more to her.

Her happiest moments were spent outside, tending to her beloved flower gardens, feeding and watching her hummingbirds, offering peanuts to the blue jays, and cooking Southern comfort food in her beautifully kept home. Willie had a natural rhythm in her—she loved dancing, whether it was a two-step or just any beat that caught her spirit. She enjoyed wine tasting, a bit of lighthearted gambling, and traveling, especially with family to Mexico.

Willie’s generosity extended beyond her home—she was always there for others and had a nurturing presence in her community.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff. She is survived by her loving husband, Luis Sebastian Lemus; her sons Randy (Kristi) and Greg; and her grandchildren Hailey, Micah, Cason, and Erin—each of whom carries her love forward in their lives.

Willie’s kindness, grace, and joyful energy left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

There are too many talents and memorable moments in Willie’s life to list them all. She leaves a large void in the hearts of her family and friends that will never be filled.
