Gloria Jane Morrison

Gloria Jane Morrison, 83, of Redding, California, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Born on June 3, 1942, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to George and Ethel Witts, Gloria embodied a fiery spirit with a soft heart - sharp-witted yet profoundly kind, as fierce as she was loyal. A single hug from her could convey a lifetime of love.

Her early years unfolded on the family ranch in Tucumcari, where she ran barefoot alongside her siblings - George Witts, Patty Arnett, and Gary Witts - and helped her beloved grandmother with chores. Those ranch memories remained cherished treasures throughout her life.

In Los Angeles, Gloria met Jim Morrison Sr., then serving in the Navy. They married on November 17, 1961, and shared 64 extraordinary years together. Devoted to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose legacy of generosity and strength endures.

For more than 45 years, Gloria worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, serving at various hospitals, including Shasta General Hospital. She later concluded her meaningful career in home health care, touching countless lives with her compassion and steady presence.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Jim Morrison Sr.; children Jim Morrison Jr., Randy Morrison, Janice Wilhelmson, and Robert Morrison; grandchildren Jim Morrison III, Ashley Ely, Jennifer Morrison, and Jessica Roberts; four great-grandchildren; and siblings George Witts, Patty Arnett, and Gary Witts.

She will be remembered for her humor, resilience, and unwavering love.
